Dale Gyure

Dale is a Director of Far Sight Skills Development and offers professional development and mentorship to technical professionals and companies with the aim of transforming businesses for the better.

A chemical engineer by training, he has 30 years of industry and academic experience as a technical professional, executive manager, professor and teacher. As an independent consultant, he’s served various large corporates, entrepreneurs and individual clients. He’s also learned the value of good writing skills and that effective communication never goes out of style.

Currently appointed Extraordinary Professor at the University of Stellenbosch, Dale’s past appointments include Tufts University (Boston), Denver Technical College and the University of Colorado. A successful inventor, he has several patents and patent applications to his name and has authored original teaching manuscripts and curricula in the engineering disciplines.

Business and leadership experience

 

  • Dale has played pivotal roles in business transformations in various industries. Clients include U.S. based biotechnology start up companies as well as SA Bioproducts and  National Bioproducts Institute here in South Africa.
  • He is an engaged and talented mentor whose mentees have all moved on to positions of increasing leadership and influence.
  • He’s helped several early stage entrepreneurs with business and strategic planning, funding and technology development. Marketable products include consulting services, foods and food enzymes, recombinant proteins, training and professional development, contract manufacturing and prototype devices. 
  • Dale has developed education programs for the Dept. of Science and Technology, revived undergraduate laboratories at a major U.S. university, and is a short course author and presenter.
